Job Responsibility

  • Manage purchasing activities by reviewing requests, sourcing needed items, and coordinating timely order placement to support daily operations
  • Maintain accurate procurement and related documentation within health information and electronic record systems to ensure reliable tracking and compliance
  • Work across teams to confirm product needs, resolve order discrepancies, and provide updates on purchasing status and delivery timelines
  • Use platforms such as AHLTA, McKesson, EHR systems, and IBM AS/400 to research information, update records, and support workflow accuracy
  • Monitor inventory and purchasing data to identify gaps, prevent delays, and help maintain continuity of service
  • Assist with system-related record updates and operational changes when purchasing processes intersect with healthcare information platforms
  • Ensure that vendor interactions, order details, and supporting records are handled with a high level of accuracy and professionalism

Requirements

  • Experience in a Buyer role or similar purchasing function within a service-based or healthcare-related environment
  • Working knowledge of Health Information Management processes and documentation standards
  • Hands-on experience using Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA)
  • Familiarity with McKesson, electronic health record systems, and IBM AS/400
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage records, transactions, and follow-up activities accurately
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Ability to organize multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced contract assignment
