We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operating Room (OR) Buyer to support our Surgical Services team by ensuring clinicians have the critical supplies they need to deliver exceptional patient care. In this role, you will manage purchasing and inventory for operating room supplies and equipment, helping maintain efficient surgical operations while securing high-quality products at the most cost-effective price. This position plays an important role in maintaining continuity of surgical supplies and supporting safe, efficient operating room procedures.
Job Responsibility:
Procure high-quality medical and non-medical supplies, equipment, and services for Surgical Services
Ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining hospital quality standards and compliance requirements
Support centralized purchasing initiatives and product standardization across departments
Maintain and monitor multiple inventories of surgical supplies to ensure uninterrupted surgical operations
Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to understand supply needs and anticipate demand
Track orders, manage vendor relationships, and support effective inventory control practices
Maintain accurate documentation and purchasing records within applicable systems
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Healthcare Administration, or a related field strongly preferred
Previous hospital purchasing or healthcare supply chain experience preferred
Experience supporting operating room or surgical services environments is a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Solid numerical and analytical ability for purchasing and inventory management
Demonstrated negotiation and vendor management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
Meditech experience preferred
Ability to maintain confidential information and follow hospital compliance standards
Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

Previous hospital purchasing or healthcare supply chain experience
