Hybrid: This position requires you to work on-site 3 times a week (Tue to Thu). The selected candidate will be required to travel <25% for this role. GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the development and execution of commodity strategies, providing market and technology insights to the category lead
  • Maintain and update sourcing pipelines, benchmarking data, cost tracking (Business Over Time), and sourcing documentation with high accuracy
  • Prepare materials for strategy reviews, global budget updates, and on‑time delivery metrics
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings (engineering, supplier quality, supply chain, finance), contributing data, analysis, and commercial insights
  • Build and support business cases aligned with sourcing priorities and program needs
  • Collaborate with global counterparts to exchange information and ensure alignment on sourcing actions for current and future programs
  • Ensure compliance with corporate purchasing and accounting processes and procedures
  • Execute the Global Purchasing and Supply Chain sourcing process to manage RFQs, perform quote analysis, and support source selection recommendations
  • Apply appropriate analytical tools—benchmarking, competitive sourcing, value analysis, negotiation preparation, cost reduction initiatives, supplier performance review, etc.—to support decision making
