Robert Half is partnering with a well-established global company in Torrance seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Buyer/Planner to join their team. Job Responsibility:
Manage established supplier relationships to ensure consistent, on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards
Issue RFQs, evaluate quotes, negotiate pricing, and place purchase orders in alignment with company policies
Monitor inventory levels and perform analysis to maintain appropriate stock levels and avoid disruptions
Coordinate daily procurement of materials and components to support steady production schedules
Track overdue purchase orders and communicate with suppliers to maintain delivery commitments
Analyze purchasing data to maintain cost control and operational efficiency
Collaborate with production, engineering, and internal departments to ensure smooth workflow
Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure compliance with internal controls
Support product updates and ongoing operational needs by securing required materials
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
Proficiency in Excel and ERP/MRP systems
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured environment
Clear and professional communication skills
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in supply chain planning within a manufacturing environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a solid understanding of material planning
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with intermediate Excel skills
Familiarity with interpreting mechanical drawings is advantageous
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required
Experience with M3 system is a significant plus but not mandatory
Ability to effectively manage supplier relationships and negotiate favorable terms
Proven track record of improving processes and achieving cost reductions
Nice to have:
Familiarity with interpreting mechanical drawings
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
Experience with M3 system
