Job Description

The Procurement Specialist II will have spend segment responsibility and ownership for part of the Indirect Purchasing vendor category. This may include EH&S, Engineering, IT, Finance, HR, Marketing, Supply Chain and other corporate services. This position will work with many internal groups at VGO such as IT-Governance, Risk & Compliance; Accounts Payable, Legal, etc. This position will contribute to vendor selection process, vendor approval and contracting for the category. This position will facilitate strategic sourcing through market and industry analysis, supplier segmentation and supplier research, and build effective relationships with internal business partners as well as current and future vendor partners.

Job Responsibility

  • Be Valvoline's subject matter expert in the designated area of focus
  • Provide information, analysis and support to the sales and marketing teams for segment business analysis
  • Develop sourcing strategies for each key material
  • Vendor Risk Mitigation - Ensure vendors are appropriately chosen, managed and monitored to mitigate risk
  • Commercial Terms - Develop and execute a sourcing strategy and negotiate commercial terms
  • Quality Service - Establish and measure quality standards for each area
  • Supplier Relationship Management - Use relationship management techniques to generate maximum long-term value

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of purchasing experience or work in a corporate environment
  • Negotiation experience with both commercial terms (pricing) and common contractual T's & C's of supplier agreements
  • Indirect Purchasing for corporate services, including an understanding of data privacy regulatory concepts, IT/SaaS contracts, and contract management best practices
