Job Description:

AEVEX Aerospace is looking for a detail oriented buyer who will be responsible for purchasing parts and materials in support of US government/DoD contracts. You will negotiate terms and pricing with our suppliers, research supplier options, and ensure procurement compliance through the acquisition process.

Job Responsibility:

Purchase materials, goods, and services in support of US government/DoD contracts
Negotiate terms and pricing with suppliers
Research supplier options
Ensure procurement compliance (FAR, DFARS, CAS, DCAA/DCMA)
Review and execute Purchase Requisitions
Coordinate with Program Managers on requirements and timelines
Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs
Analyze quotes and negotiate for best value
Establish new vendor relationships
Communicate with vendors on order status
Expedite orders for on-time delivery
Resolve purchasing-related issues
Maintain database information and vendor lead times
Support receiving activities and validate items
Maintain purchasing documents and files per audit guidelines
Manage supplier performance
Conduct market research to identify suppliers

Requirements:

Associate’s degree minimum (Bachelor's preferred)
3-5 years of purchasing experience in a Government/DoD contracting environment
Strong working knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations
Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI DoD clearance
U.S. Citizenship required
Strong ability to work with little supervision
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with Government contracting regulations related to purchasing/subcontracting

Nice to have:

Familiar with purchasing in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read engineering drawings and documentation
Bachelor's Degree
