The Buyer Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely procurement and planning of materials and components required for production, while optimizing inventory levels, maintaining cost efficiency, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role acts as a liaison between suppliers, internal departments, and customer service to guarantee on-time delivery and high service levels.
Job Responsibility:
Plan and schedule production based on component availability, priorities, and capacity
Purchase raw materials and components through established systems (MPS, SAP, reports)
Expedite materials from suppliers and interplants to meet production requirements
Monitor KPIs such as On-Time Delivery, Inventory Turns, and Past Due Backlog
implement corrective actions as needed
Participate in physical inventories, continuous improvement projects, lean manufacturing initiatives, and Kaizen events
Coordinate priorities with Production, Customer Service, Import/Export, Logistics, and other departments
Support supplier development, negotiation of prices, credit terms, quality, and service agreements
Analyze economic proposals and resolve invoice discrepancies with Finance and suppliers
Monitor forecasts and adjust planning parameters (MPS, Safety Stocks, AMU)
Coordinate engineering changes, new product trials, and quality rejections with relevant departments
Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO requirements, and confidentiality standards
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
2–3 years of experience in production planning, buying, or supply chain (preferably in manufacturing)
Strong knowledge of MPS, MRP, SAP (or similar ERP systems)
Experience in supplier negotiation and development
Analytical skills for economic proposals, forecasting, and KPI management
Strong communication and coordination skills across departments and suppliers
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and inventory control
Advanced Excel and reporting skills
Intermediate to advanced English (written and spoken)
