Job Description:

This Buyer position located in Dorval is an ideal opportunity for a junior to intermediate professional who wishes to grow within a high-tech Quebec manufacturing company specializing in electronic components.

Job Responsibility:

  • Analyze MRP (Material Requirements Planning) needs and process purchase requisitions
  • Issue purchase orders in a timely and cost-effective manner, conducting rigorous price analyses
  • Ensure rigorous follow-up on open purchase orders (raw products, tooling, chemicals, MRO office supplies)
  • Proactively communicate potential issues or interruptions to management
  • Identify and evaluate new suppliers, particularly for certain specialized products (strategic sourcing)
  • Lead price and condition negotiations with suppliers once comfortable in the role
  • Liaise between suppliers, subcontractors, and relevant internal departments (Operations, Engineering, Planning)

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar Buyer or Procurement role
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly machining (metal, industrial)
  • Proficiency in English (communication with international suppliers)
  • Ability to work full-time in the office (no hybrid or remote work option offered)

Nice to have:

  • Bilingualism (French/English) is a major asset
