As part of our global DIPS organisation, the Business Unit Technical Leader (BUTL) ensures we deliver excellence, innovation, and impact across our engagements. This is a pivotal leadership role, blending technical anchorage, delivery support, and community development to raise the bar in how projects are delivered and how value is captured.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver high-value PM engagements for strategic clients
  • Manage and mentor PM consultants, ensuring quality and client satisfaction
  • Contribute to PM-related recruitment and pre-sales activities
  • Establish Technical Anchoring – Define and continuously refine M|P’s PMO and Project Controls methodology in the Australian context
  • Enable Excellence – Foster state-of-the-art delivery through diagnostics, continuous improvement, and innovation initiatives
  • Support Sales & Bids – Contribute to pre-sales, solution engineering, and complex client requirements
  • Strengthen Delivery – Lead or support the set-up of strategic/complex engagements
  • provide recovery support when required
  • Recruit & Grow Talent – Support recruitment, evaluation, and development of consultants and delivery managers
  • Develop Communities – Animate the DM process and delivery manager community

Requirements

  • Solid experience in PMO / Project Controls, ideally with exposure to both delivery and consulting environments
  • A track record in leading complex projects or recovery missions, with tangible improvements delivered
  • Strong skills in business partnering — able to engage with sales, clients, and delivery teams with credibility
  • Experience in recruitment, mentoring, and capability building for technical roles
  • Awareness of digital solutions in PMO and project controls, and curiosity to keep learning
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire both technical experts and client stakeholders
