This is a vital, full-time, long-term supply position covering an extended absence, providing stability and a genuine opportunity to embed yourself within the school community. The role carries the full responsibilities of a permanent teacher, focusing on delivering high-quality, engaging Business Studies lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially Key Stage 5 depending on experience.
Job Responsibility:
Planning and delivering innovative, engaging Business Studies lessons tailored to the curriculum
Assessing, recording, and reporting on the development, progress, and attainment of students
Upholding the academy's high expectations for student behaviour and achievement
Setting and marking work, including examinations, and providing constructive feedback
Contributing to the development of departmental resources and curriculum content
Participating in school duties, staff meetings, and professional development activities as required for a long-term placement
Monitoring and tracking student progress, implementing effective intervention strategies where necessary
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance and progress
Communicating effectively with parents/carers regarding student performance and well-being
Promoting an inclusive and supportive learning culture where all students feel valued
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Recent and proven experience teaching Business Studies at the secondary level (KS3-KS4 minimum)
Eligibility to work in the UK
Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)
Strong Subject Knowledge: A deep and current understanding of the Business Studies curriculum (e.g., finance, marketing, enterprise)
Adaptability and Flexibility: The capacity to quickly adjust teaching methods and plans to suit different classes and settings
Excellent Communication: Clear, articulate, and engaging verbal and written communication with students, staff, and parents
Differentiated Instruction: Skill in tailoring lessons to meet the diverse needs and abilities of all learners
IT Proficiency: Confidence in integrating educational technology and business-related software into lessons
Assessment and Feedback: Expertise in providing timely, constructive, and developmental feedback to drive student progress
