Job Description:

We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support enterprise initiatives involving GIS platforms and IBM Maximo asset management systems. This role serves as a key liaison between business users, GIS technical teams, and Maximo system stakeholders, supporting major architecture and database environment changes. The BSA will work with 40+ stakeholders across GIS and Maximo teams, ensuring requirements are clearly documented, changes are tracked, and all deliverables meet audit and compliance standards.

Job Responsibility:

Act as a primary coordination point between GIS teams and Maximo / Asset Management teams
Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and design reviews
Translate business needs into clear system, integration, and data requirements
Align technical teams and business users on scope, timelines, and dependencies
Support full architecture changes to the GIS environment, including application and platform upgrades, integration touchpoints, security and access changes
Support full database environment changes, including data model updates, environment migrations, validation and reconciliation
Assist with analysis of system impacts across GIS and Maximo during enhancements and upgrades
Support system integrations and data flows between GIS, Maximo, and downstream systems
Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation for business requirements, functional and technical specifications, architecture and data flow diagrams, change control records
Ensure documentation supports audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements
Maintain clear traceability between requirements, design, testing, and deployment artifacts
Track work items using Jira, following standard enterprise delivery processes
Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release coordination
Work in a hybrid delivery model, combining Agile development practices and Waterfall milestones where required
Assist project managers with scope tracking, risk identification, and dependency management
Support testing activities, including UAT coordination and defect triage

Requirements:

5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical Analyst, or similar role
Hands-on experience supporting GIS platforms and/or IBM Maximo environments
Proven experience working with large stakeholder groups (30–40+ users)
Strong experience producing audit-ready documentation
Experience supporting system architecture and database environment changes
Proficiency using Jira for project and requirements tracking
Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, with experience operating in hybrid Agile/Waterfall environments
Strong analytical, communication, and facilitation skills
