Job Description

Our confidential banking client, in Toronto, is seeking a technically strong Business Systems Analyst who can independently create business and technical user stories while partnering closely with Technical Leads and development teams. This HYBRID role is a hands-on techno-functional role requiring strong technical analysis capabilities and the ability to work with APIs, integrations, data mappings, and event-driven architectures.

Job Responsibility

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements
  • Draft detailed technical user stories for APIs, ETL pipelines, event-driven consumers, and data transformation processes
  • Create and maintain data mappings and requirements traceability
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads, Architects, Developers, and business stakeholders
  • Review API specifications, architecture diagrams, and data schemas
  • Support Agile delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role
  • Previous background in software development, technical analysis, or a related technical discipline
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, ETL processes, messaging platforms, and event-driven systems
  • Advanced data mapping and data analysis skills
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile delivery methodologies
  • Ability to independently author technical user stories and requirements documentation

Nice to have

  • Banking or wealth management experience
  • Exposure to AWS services such as Lambda, MSK, and S3
  • Previous experience as a Developer or Technical Analyst
