A Business Systems Analyst II will work across a variety of business and technical stakeholders to translate functional and technical requirements into detailed system specifications for the development and enhancement of new and existing software technology solutions.
Job Responsibility:
Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders, employing various techniques such as interviews, workshops and surveys. Critically analyze and decompose complex business needs into functional and non-functional requirements
Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications, including data models, process flows, system interfaces, and integration requirements. Create clear and concise documentation for development and testing teams
Identify, elicit, and document project/process requirements, using appropriate techniques. Analyze requirements and validate with original users, eliminating confusion. Define the testing scripts and verification criteria to ensure requirements are met. Maintain documentation and traceability throughout project
Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Interpret the business need and identify solution recommendations to business problems at a business unit level
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business users, engineers, testers, and project managers
Support a culture of innovation by contributing to solutions that boost creativity, innovation, and collaboration
Support and contribute to the documentation of "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to accurately record the changes required
Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends
Explore and develop a basic understanding of external developments or emerging issues and contribute to the evaluation of their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization
Carry out feasibility and assessment work for proposed and current projects to contribute to the development and continuous review of business cases
Deliver small- or medium-scale projects while working within an established program management plan
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field
1 to 3 years of experience as an experienced practitioner able to work unsupervised
Basic experience coordinating the work of others (4 to 6 months managerial experience)
Understands business context, needs, rules, and architecture, as well as organizational structure, cultures, capabilities, and processes
Envisions and documents the future state of processes and products
Leads facilitated sessions for requirements elicitation, focus groups, and user acceptance testing
Conducts gap analysis between current and future states
Expresses user needs in terms of business requirements, identifies current capability of the business to deliver, conducts build or buy analyses, and recommends preferred approach
Identifies potential stakeholders, analyzes their expectations, and develops strategies for managing stakeholders and their expectations
Creates the rules for requirements and design quality, performs verification activities, and maintains quality control
Analyzes trends from data that is collected to assist in compiling reports that will help in decision-making
Utilizes the appropriate modeling tool(s) to diagram the requirements from data and state changes, process and process improvements, as well as use cases and user stories
Creates clear, comprehensive, effective, and user-friendly guides, manuals, narratives, and reports that convey complex technical concepts
Identifies, selects, and manages the oversight of business analysis work, including decision making, change control, prioritization, and approval processes
Manages the documentation, archiving, traceability, changes, and approvals of requirements throughout the project life cycle

Led and contributed to legacy system modernization initiatives and large-scale enterprise transformations
Working knowledge leveraging Appian low-code platform to support workflow automation and business process management
Working knowledge of Agile methodology, including iterative delivery and cross-functional collaboration

Plans, identifies, monitors, analyzes, and prioritizes risks (threats and opportunities), creates response plans, and manages the risk if it occurs
