The Business Support Officer provides high-level, professional and confidential executive and business support to Directors within the Social Policy and Intergovernmental Relations Division, including the Security and Emergency and Recovery Management (SERM) function. The role is responsible for coordinating executive workflows, managing competing priorities and ensuring the efficient operation of the Directorate. It requires sound judgement, discretion and the ability to anticipate issues and respond proactively in a dynamic environment. Working closely with executive leadership and corporate service areas, the position supports effective governance, records and financial processes, and contributes to the continuous improvement of administrative systems and practice.
Job Responsibility:
Provides high-level, professional and confidential executive and business support to Directors within the Social Policy and Intergovernmental Relations Division, including the Security and Emergency and Recovery Management (SERM) function

Requirements:
Participate in the department's Performance Management Program
National Criminal History check and Security Clearance (including Baseline, Negative Vetting Level 1, Negative Vetting Level 2, Positive Vetting)
Operates within a confidential, commercially orientated and, at times politically sensitive environment, requiring the exercise of discretion, sound judgement and professionalism at all times
Participates in State Crisis Centre and recovery operations as required, including undertaking on-call duties and contributing to a 24/7 roster during emergency activations
May be required to work outside standard business hours, with potential limitations on annual leave during high-risk disaster periods to ensure operational readiness and continuity of service.
