Job Description

A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Northampton is seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Business Studies Teacher to join their team from September. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive department that is committed to delivering an engaging and relevant Business Studies curriculum. The successful candidate will teach Business Studies across Key Stages 4 and 5, inspiring students to develop commercial awareness, entrepreneurial thinking, and the skills needed for future success.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality Business Studies lessons to KS4 and KS5 students
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum and examination specifications
  • Inspire students through real-world business examples and interactive learning
  • Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing effective feedback to maximise achievement
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and contribute to the wider school community
  • Support students with exam preparation, intervention sessions, and revision programmes
  • Contribute to enterprise activities and enrichment opportunities across the school

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Business Studies (or BTEC equivalent)
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Business education
  • Excellent classroom management skills and high expectations of student achievement
  • A commitment to inclusive education and supporting all learners to reach their full potential
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
