This is a rewarding opportunity for a Business Studies Specialist to join a dedicated secondary team in Leeds. This is a maternity cover position starting ASAP, requiring a professional who can hit the ground running. While the heart of the role lies in delivering high-quality Business Studies across KS4 and KS5, the successful candidate will also be integrated into the wider school community through a timetable that includes general cover across various subjects. This ensures a varied working week and the chance to build relationships with students across all year groups.
Job Responsibility:
Lesson Delivery: Planning and teaching engaging Business Studies lessons
Assessment: Marking work and providing constructive feedback in a timely manner
General Cover: Supervising classes across the school during non-specialist periods
Exam Prep: Preparing Year 11 and Year 13 students for their upcoming examinations
Curriculum Design: Contributing to the development of departmental schemes of work
Parental Engagement: Attending parent's evenings and providing progress reports
Pastoral Care: Potentially acting as a Form Tutor and supporting student well-being
Classroom Environment: Creating an inspiring space that celebrates student success
Professional Development: Participating in school-wide CPD and staff meetings
Policy Adherence: Following all school policies regarding safeguarding and behaviour
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
Up-to-date knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines
Eligibility to work in the UK
