Job Description

The responsibilities of a Business Solutions Analyst include conducting business systems analysis and employing analytical methods to plan, design, and implement improved business information systems and processes that meet the specific requirements of customer organizations. The analyst performs needs analyses to identify opportunities for enhancing or introducing new business process solutions. They also engage in business process reengineering, feasibility studies, and trade-off analyses. Acting as a liaison between internal and external customers, they collaborate with them to identify, refine, and specify functional requirements, which are then translated into technical specifications. The analyst develops comprehensive functional and systems requirements and specifications, prepares business cases for IT solutions, defines systems scope and objectives, and estimates costs for new or modified systems. Ensuring the integration of various system components such as policies, procedures, training material, databases, software, and hardware, they conduct performance and reliability testing for new solutions. Additionally, the analyst plays a role in planning and participating in system implementation, providing post-implementation support, and upholding strict adherence to information security and assurance policies, principles, and practices throughout the systems analysis process.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience applying analytical processes on IT projects
  • At least three (3) years of experience in business systems analysis and design
  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge and experience in structured analysis principles and methods
  • Knowledge and experience in systems analysis and analytical principles, concepts, techniques and methods, including cost-benefit analysis methods
  • Knowledge and experience in basic IT architecture and technical documentation methods
  • Knowledge and experience in systems design tools, methods and techniques, including automated systems analysis and design tools
  • Knowledge and experience in systems design standards, policies and authorized approaches
  • Knowledge and experience in system design precedents or alternative approaches
  • Knowledge and experience in business processes, workflows and operations of customer organizations
  • Knowledge and experience in business process engineering concepts and methods
  • Knowledge and experience in life cycle management concepts
  • Knowledge and experience in internet and new IT technologies
  • Ability to speak and write effectively and prepare effective reports
