Job Description

We are currently seeking a Business Services Support professional to join Aurizon on a 3-month temporary basis, providing backfill support while a team member undertakes a development opportunity. This is a hands-on, front-of-house role based at our Murray Street administration building and nearby training centre in Rockhampton. You’ll play an important role in keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly while delivering a professional and welcoming experience for visitors, employees and the local community.

Job Responsibility

  • Acting as the first point of contact at reception, welcoming visitors, employees and contractors
  • Managing meeting room bookings, calendars and room set-ups
  • Coordinating catering requests, including set-up and clean-up
  • Handling incoming calls and general enquiries in a professional and courteous manner
  • Managing shared mailboxes and ensuring timely responses
  • Processing incoming and outgoing mail and coordinating courier services
  • Monitoring and ordering office consumables (e.g. stationery, kitchen supplies)
  • Supporting facilities coordination including maintenance requests and inspections
  • Printing and issuing ID cards in line with security requirements
  • Providing support across both the administration building and training centre
  • Assisting with ad hoc administrative tasks such as printing, binding and mail-outs

Requirements

  • Experience in reception, customer service, call centre or administrative support roles
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • A proactive, reliable and adaptable approach
  • Confidence working in a high-traffic, people-focused environment
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Ability to safely undertake manual handling tasks

Nice to have

Experience with meeting coordination, inbox management, mail handling or inventory (desirable)
