We are seeking a dynamic Business Services Consultant to drive employer engagement and workforce placement initiatives within a WIOA-funded environment. This role focuses on developing strong business partnerships, expanding work-based learning opportunities, and aligning job seekers with strategic employment pathways. This position is ideal for a workforce development professional who understands employer needs, labor market trends, and compliance requirements, and who is motivated to strengthen business relationships while improving participant outcomes. The Business Services Consultant serves as a key liaison between employers and workforce programs by: Identifying hiring needs across industries; Developing employment strategies aligned with WIOA participants; Expanding Work Experience, WEX, and On-the-Job Training, OJT, opportunities; Strengthening employer pipelines and placement outcomes. This role operates collaboratively with Career Advisors, Project Leadership, and Workforce Teams to ensure compliance, performance alignment, and sustainable employer partnerships.
Job Responsibility:
Partner with business and industry leaders to assess workforce needs and develop employment strategies
Identify and cultivate new employer partnerships to increase job placements and work-based learning opportunities
Promote WIOA services to employers and create pipelines for WEX, OJT, and apprenticeship models
Conduct employer site visits to evaluate workplace environments and determine suitable placement opportunities
Participate in networking events, industry associations, and community partnerships to enhance program visibility
Collaborate with Career Advisors to identify job-ready WIOA participants for direct placement, WEX, or OJT opportunities
Match job seekers to employment opportunities based on skill sets, interests, and employer requirements
Coordinate recruitment initiatives including job fairs, hiring events, and employer-led information sessions
Maintain knowledge of regional labor market trends to support career pathway development
Ensure all employer services, WEX agreements, and placements align with federal, state, and local WIOA regulations
Enter accurate employer notes, documentation, and placement updates into the WorkSource Georgia Portal
Maintain timely and professional case documentation
Uphold confidentiality standards and program compliance guidelines
Work closely with the Project Director and team to enhance employer engagement strategies
Provide internal guidance regarding employer expectations, job readiness standards, and WEX processes
Participate in work groups, community meetings, and special projects supporting workforce initiatives
Perform additional duties as assigned to support placement and program performance
Requirements:
Associate degree required in Business, Human Services, Marketing, Workforce Development, or related field
1 to 2 years of experience in workforce development, employer relations, staffing, recruiting, or related customer-facing roles
Understanding of WIOA programs and work-based learning models such as WEX and OJT
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Experience conducting employer outreach and coordinating hiring events
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook
Experience using case management or CRM systems
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple employer accounts
Ability to work independently and travel locally as needed
Nice to have:
Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience working with WIOA Adult, Dislocated Worker, or Youth programs
Experience developing WEX sites or OJT contracts
Familiarity with labor market information and regional workforce trends
Experience using the WorkSource Georgia Portal or similar workforce systems
