The Corporate External and Legal Affairs (CELA) organization is seeking a Business Program Manager to support Microsoft’s Responsible Business Practices team within Tech for Society. This role owns the execution of cross-functional programs that support regulatory and voluntary human rights and supply chain reporting. Operating in a highly ambiguous environment, this role is responsible for translating strategy into clear operating rhythms and partnering across legal, policy, product, engineering, supply chain, procurement, and sales teams to coordinate and synthesize data and narrative inputs supporting Microsoft’s supply chain due diligence and human rights reporting and comms programs, including engagement with external stakeholders to support credible, accountable disclosures. This role is expected to work in an AI-first way, using AI agents and analysis tools to accelerate research, synthesize stakeholder inputs, automate reporting workflows, and surface insights across complex datasets. The ideal candidate treats AI as a core work partner, not an optional productivity add-on.
Job Responsibility:
Own end-to-end execution of Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) assessments, supply chain and human rights transparency reporting, and team communications, leveraging AI agents to automate data collection, track regulatory updates, and draft initial reporting frameworks for human review
Use AI tools to scan and analyze external benchmarks, peer disclosures, and stakeholder feedback at scale, identifying opportunities to integrate learnings from assessments and stakeholder engagements into reporting and transparency initiatives
Establish and maintain operating rhythms (cadences, reviews, comms) that provide visibility, accountability, and momentum
Deploy AI-powered analysis tools to synthesize inputs across legal, supply chain, and policy teams, and generate structured insights for reporting cycles
Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs
drive mitigation plans and course corrections to ensure successful outcomes
Build and iterate on AI-assisted workflows and agent-enabled processes that reduce manual effort and increase reporting consistency, designing scalable, repeatable approaches that enable consistent program execution across teams
Develop and execute landing plans and communication strategies in support of the RBP narrative tailored to diverse audiences
Use AI-powered dashboards, agents, and analysis tools to monitor program health, identify gaps, and generate recommendations, freeing human capacity for higher-order judgment and stakeholder engagement
Apply systems thinking to connect workstreams, anticipate downstream impacts, and optimize overall program effectiveness
Partner with cross‑functional teams (e.g., legal, supply chain, policy, operations, sales) to align priorities, roles, and shared outcomes related to human rights and supply chain reporting and transparency initiatives
Influence without authority by synthesizing complex inputs, creating clarity, and driving shared accountability
Use AI tools to aggregate and summarize inputs from cross-functional partners, enabling faster synthesis and clearer communication to senior leaders
Operate effectively in fast‑changing environments, adjusting plans and approaches as business needs evolve
Regularly scan internal and external contexts to anticipate risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement
Demonstrate resilience and sound judgment while navigating ambiguity and competing priorities
Model AI-first working habits within the team, identifying opportunities to delegate research, drafting, and data analysis tasks to AI agents and coaching others to do the same
Champion Microsoft’s culture and values by embedding integrity and respect for human rights into business decision‑making
Promote transparency, accountability, and trust internally and externally
