The Business Operations Manager, Payroll Strategy is focused on improving operational efficiency, quality, and scalability through cross-functional execution, process improvement, and technology-enabled workflows. You will own and drive initiatives end-to-end, working across multiple stakeholders to move work forward and ensure outcomes are delivered. You will manage multiple projects in parallel, adapt to shifting priorities, and operate effectively in environments with limited initial structure. The role requires strong execution, prioritization, and coordination skills. You should be comfortable working in workflow-based environments. The expectation is adaptability and operational judgment: knowing how to use the right tools, work with the right partners, and deliver outcomes. Depending on the initiative, the role may involve leading projects, coordinating execution across teams, or contributing to the design and rollout of scalable operational solutions.
Job Responsibility:
Drive Deel’s operational strategy across products, services, and market expansions with a focus on scale and efficiency
Own and lead complex operational domains, designing and implementing programs that enhance scalability, automation, and business impact
Define, scope, and execute high-priority initiatives, leading cross-functional teams to deliver measurable outcomes
Analyze large data sets to generate insights, drive operational improvements, and make strategic recommendations
Identify root causes of operational challenges and implement solutions that optimize workflows and drive efficiency
Develop and refine scalable processes, leveraging technology and best practices to improve operations at scale
Partner closely with product, engineering, compliance, and customer experience teams to implement high-impact operational improvements
Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and build reporting mechanisms to track and enhance operational effectiveness
Identify and implement industry best practices to enhance Deel’s global operations, ensuring adaptability in a dynamic business environment
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment (e.g., tech, fintech, consulting, operations, strategy)
Proven track record of leading large-scale initiatives, assuming ownership, and delivering results in an IC capacity
Strong analytical and data skills, including proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
Ability to break down complex problems into structured, actionable steps and drive execution
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across different levels
Experience working with product and engineering teams to drive operational improvements and automation
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Nice to have:
experience with SQL, Looker, or Snowflake is a plus
