Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Business Office Clerk to join our team in San Rafael, California. This Contract to permanent position involves supporting various administrative functions within a medical office setting, including patient registration, billing, and insurance processing. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring streamlined communication between office operations and clinical teams while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform clerical tasks such as organizing files, scanning documents, and maintaining patient records
  • Act as a liaison between the business office and operating room teams to facilitate communication regarding billing and cost concerns
  • Collaborate with the billing department to ensure claims are accurate and submitted on time
  • Audit and reconcile patient accounts to identify and correct any discrepancies
  • Assist with accounts receivable by tracking outstanding balances and processing payments
  • Greet and check in patients, ensuring demographic and insurance information is complete and accurate
  • Guide patients through completing necessary paperwork and ensure all forms are legible and compliant
  • Process patient authorizations and pre-certifications promptly, ensuring all required documentation is in place
  • Communicate procedural instructions, arrival times, and preparation guidelines to patients
  • Coordinate patient payments and follow up on missing or incomplete insurance information

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a medical office or similar administrative environment
  • Proficiency in scanning, organizing files, and data entry
  • Familiarity with patient registration, billing, and insurance verification processes
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and clinical staff
  • Ability to audit financial transactions and reconcile accounts with attention to detail
