This contract-to-permanent position focuses on providing crucial support to business office operations, including patient registration, billing, and insurance verification. The role also involves acting as a key liaison between the business office and operating room teams to help streamline processes and control costs.
Job Responsibility:
Perform clerical tasks such as organizing files, scanning documents, and maintaining patient records
Serve as a point of communication between the business office and operating room teams to address billing and cost-related concerns
Collaborate with the billing department to ensure timely and accurate processing of claims, including providing necessary documentation
Monitor and report on cost containment strategies, identifying opportunities for financial improvement
Audit patient accounts to resolve discrepancies and ensure billing accuracy
Reconcile daily financial transactions to maintain consistency and reliability
Assist with accounts receivable tasks, including tracking outstanding balances and processing payments
Facilitate patient check-ins by verifying demographics, medical history, and insurance information for accuracy
Guide patients through completing required paperwork, ensuring forms are correctly filled out and legible
Coordinate patient authorizations and pre-certifications to ensure timely completion of necessary documentation
Requirements:
Previous experience in a medical office environment is required
Proficiency in scanning, organizing files, and performing accurate data entry
Familiarity with back-office support tasks, including document management and patient recordkeeping
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff, both verbally and in writing
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in handling financial transactions and patient information
Experience with medical billing processes and insurance verification
Competence in managing accounts receivable and tracking outstanding balances
Knowledge of patient flow and safety in a medical office setting
