The purpose of this position is to drive and manage the sales of products and services within Evonik’s Specialty Nutrition (SN) portfolio for the North America (United States and Canada) region. This position is responsible for supporting business development of the SN product line by maintaining the regional sales strategy, identifying and managing the distribution channels. The Business Manager is the key contact with customers, distributors, and EN Business Managers, additionally working with the Technical Services Manager in developing necessary field activities, which will have production application value.
Job Responsibility:
Sales Excellence / Understanding customer’s commercial and technical needs and opportunities (research, communicate, present)
Manage the customer and distributors interface by developing contacts at multiple levels, scheduling meetings and visits
Promote and drive the sales of specialty nutrition products and services
Implement the strategic positioning of the Specialty Nutrition products and services within the region
Support price and volume sales targets by identifying customer needs and applying appropriate commercial and technical value-added tools to support defined sales goals and objectives
Research, manage and coordinate technical and sales initiatives to support the team strategy
Pricing – Studying and understanding the functional feed additives markets and proposing prices that are in line with the market and with Evonik’s profit targets
Provide accurate and reliable market information
Account Planning – Developing and implementing plans for focus customers, including but not limited to the coordination of Technical Services as needed
Budgeting and Forecasting – Accurately budgeting, forecasting and updating all account activities to ensure products and resources are available in order to achieve sales targets updated as needed
Keeping all information databases up to date (e.g. IBP, MSD, Cupset)
Project Support Participate in and lead various project teams to support the advancement of the business line’s value selling initiatives
Requirements:
Minimum of BA in Animal Health or Animal Nutrition, Animal Science related fields
Minimum 5 years of experience with solution-based sales processes in livestock industry, preferably poultry industry
Technical knowledge in animal production (poultry, swine)
Experience in negotiation, problem solving and conflict management
Ability to develop and manage account plans
Ability to manage “Customer Relationship Management” tools
Strong teamwork and clear communication
Demonstrates clear understanding of customer base, needs, and opportunities
Good time management skills and good steward of all company resources, including funds expended during business travel
