A global immigration law firm is seeking a Business Immigration Attorney to support its San Francisco team during a leave coverage period. This assignment is expected to last approximately three months, with potential to extend based on workload. This role focuses exclusively on employment-based Non-Immigrant Visa (NIV) matters and is best suited for an attorney with 2–3 years of business immigration experience who can step in quickly and contribute in a high-volume environment.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and file non-immigrant visa petitions (I-129), including H-1B, L-1, TN, E-2, O-1, and related classifications
Draft support letters, forms, and legal correspondence for employment-based NIV matters
Conduct case assessments and advise on visa eligibility and strategy
Review supporting documentation to ensure compliance with USCIS requirements
Respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and other government inquiries
Support and manage a high-volume caseload of NIV matters
Requirements:
J.D. and active bar admission in any U.S. jurisdiction
2–3 years of employment-based business immigration experience as a licensed attorney (up to ~5 years at a smaller firm considered)
Experience supporting or preparing employment-based NIV petitions, including H-1B, L-1, TN, and related classifications
experience working with I-129 petitions strongly preferred
Strong drafting, organizational, and case management skills
Ability to work independently in a remote, high-volume practice environment
Availability to work Pacific Time business hours
