Job Description

A global immigration law firm is seeking a Business Immigration Attorney to support its San Francisco team during a leave coverage period. This assignment is expected to last approximately three months, with potential to extend based on workload. This role focuses exclusively on employment-based Non-Immigrant Visa (NIV) matters and is best suited for an attorney with 2–3 years of business immigration experience who can step in quickly and contribute in a high-volume environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and file non-immigrant visa petitions (I-129), including H-1B, L-1, TN, E-2, O-1, and related classifications
  • Draft support letters, forms, and legal correspondence for employment-based NIV matters
  • Conduct case assessments and advise on visa eligibility and strategy
  • Review supporting documentation to ensure compliance with USCIS requirements
  • Respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and other government inquiries
  • Support and manage a high-volume caseload of NIV matters

Requirements

  • J.D. and active bar admission in any U.S. jurisdiction
  • 2–3 years of employment-based business immigration experience as a licensed attorney (up to ~5 years at a smaller firm considered)
  • Experience supporting or preparing employment-based NIV petitions, including H-1B, L-1, TN, and related classifications
  • experience working with I-129 petitions strongly preferred
  • Strong drafting, organizational, and case management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, high-volume practice environment
  • Availability to work Pacific Time business hours
