As a Business Director at Capital One, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. As the Global Payment Network (GPN) integrates into Capital One, there are many strategic choices that need to be considered with our new business context and ambition. The GPN Network Strategy team is responsible for supporting, leading, and driving this strategic decision-making across all areas of our Network business. Join the team as we work together to shape a new strategic future for the network.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop strategies to support the growth of the Network across critical areas, including, but not limited to, international acceptance, brand, and technology evolution
  • Investigate and evaluate major trends in the payments ecosystem and their impact on GPN
  • Support business development efforts with existing and new partners domestically and internationally
  • Engage with senior leadership – within the Network and across the Capital One enterprise – on strategic decision-making
  • Strategic leadership: Develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success
  • Leadership: May manage and develop multiple analysts. Coaching and mentoring associates
  • Product: Develop and implement new product and pricing strategies for various lending products
  • lead product level data modeling/analytics
  • Marketing: Lead direct-to-consumer marketing efforts for select products
  • Build targeted insights to inform the design and development of new customer experiences
  • Credit Risk: Drive step-change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior
  • Execution: Manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements and execute against the product strategy
  • Partnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including: IT, Sales, Operations, Finance and others to drive improvement

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
  • At least 7 years of experience in analysis
  • Master’s Degree (Preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in financial services (Preferred)
  • 1+ year of experience in consulting (Preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in people management (Preferred)
  • Strategic
  • analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics
  • Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity
  • Solid people leadership experience: Ability to build and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team
