Job Description:

Our firm is looking to build the Business Development capacity internally, and we are looking for the right person to help take the company into new markets and deeper into existing ones. The primary objective will be to acquire profitable engineering business for the company in the Federal, Municipal, and State markets. The incumbant will source potential customers and develop strategies for winning business within both the government and commercial sectors. They will work closely with management to ensure viable opportunities develop into winning proposals.

Job Responsibility:

  • Find project opportunities/teaming opportunities in company target markets through research and direct contact with potential customers
  • Have an understanding of Federal procurement market, or ability and desire to learn it
  • Develop strategies/plans to capture opportunities
  • Identify potential companies/customers and maintain our existing long-term relationships looking to expand on those accounts
  • Gather and analyze customer needs and interests and brief senior management on opportunities
  • Proposal writing and coordination from beginning to end to “close the deal”
  • Utilize web databases to locate contract opportunities
  • Provide customers with clear and easy-to-understand information regarding company’s services
  • Implement marketing collateral to facilitate sales closings and new client acquisition
  • Deliver solution presentations that are necessary to convey and articulate the company's capabilities
  • Develop and track activity to senior management for short and long-term planning, experienced in CRM tools

Requirements:

  • 3 years of services sales experience minimum
  • Sales experience with Engineering, Architectural or consulting services is highly desired
  • 1+ years of experience selling to the Federal Government or with Federal Government Procurement required
  • Winning sales track record
  • Ability to multi-task and reprioritize is key
  • Must be a self-starter w/ ability to take charge
  • Flexible attitude towards duties and responsibilities
  • Ability to work on site in Gaithersburg, MD full time and travel to meetings and events throughout the Washington, D.C./Baltimore Metro areas
  • Some travel to other US cities, including overnight travel may be required
  • Demonstrated experience with business development within the State/Federal government and Private Sector
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex business relationships and strategies
  • Familiarity with Electrical industry highly desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience and contacts within the federal government or military highly desirable
