Mantell Associates is partnered with a world-leading biologics CDMO, who is looking for a driven Business Development Specialist to join its European commercial team. This role offers the chance to help expand biologics service offerings, build meaningful client relationships, and support the CDMO’s growth in an innovation-driven environment.
Job Responsibility:
Prospect and develop new business opportunities across biologics services, including development, manufacturing, and process optimization
Build and maintain strong relationships with biotech, pharmaceutical companies, and academic partners
act as a trusted point of contact for potential clients
Prepare compelling proposals, quotations, and technical-commercial offers in collaboration with technical, regulatory, quality, and operations teams
Participate in opportunity qualification, financial assessment, and contract negotiation to ensure client needs and company capabilities are aligned
Support account management of existing clients to identify expansion opportunities and ensure high satisfaction and service delivery
Represent the company at industry conferences, workshops, and trade forums to increase visibility and generate leads
Maintain accurate pipeline and CRM records, producing regular reports on forecast, market feedback, and competitive landscape
Requirements:
3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial support within a biologics CDMO or related biotechnology / pharmaceutical services environment
Good technical understanding of biologics development and manufacturing (e.g., cell culture, purification, formulation, analytical support) to be able to discuss capabilities credibly with clients
Proven track record of achieving sales or growth targets and closing business opportunities in the CDMO or biotech sector
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
ability to work cross-functionally with technical and operations teams
Fluent in English
Willingness to travel within Europe to meet clients, visit sites and attend events
Nice to have:
proficiency in another European language (e.g., German, French, Spanish) is a plus
