Job Description:

You’ll be joining the Mastercard Digital Partners team in France as business developer focusing on identifying and building partnerships throughout the non-traditional payments value chain to achieve continual growth in the French market. These partners represent some of the most entrepreneurial and innovative organizations Mastercard works with today. You will report to the VP, Head of Digital Partners, taking responsibility for developing new or existing Fintech and Web 3 partnerships across France, working with stakeholders throughout these partner organizations to drive incremental Mastercard volume and futureproofing our business. Your focus will be to identify new business opportunities, develop tailored solutions, and position Mastercard as their preferred partner in the payments’ ecosystem. This role requires an understanding of the fintech landscape, an appetite for the blockchain & digital asset sector, a strong business acumen and the ability to align Mastercard’s offerings with the specific needs of innovative players. We are looking for a self-motivated, structured problem solver with a creative outlook with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and influence others without direct authority.

Job Responsibility:

  • Take responsibility for developing partnerships and businesses with fintechs from key industry verticals - e.g, crypto/blockchain/web3, B2B SaaS providers, ISV, etc. - in France
  • Identify, engage and negotiate with fintechs, driving commercial conversations through to contract finalization and account management and aiming to deliver innovative solutions that maximize mutual revenue and growth and expand Mastercard’s footprint in France
  • Attend industry events, maintain market trend knowledge and assess market opportunities
  • Collaborate with Mastercard global teams to develop strong understanding of the blockchain/digital asset eco-system and to drive relationships with those players having set-up in France and all the very active French ecosystem
  • Act as a trusted advisor to fintech partners, understanding their needs and collaborate with Mastercard Products and Services teams to create tailored solutions that foster mutual growth and ensure effective project implementation

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in the payments or fintech space, working in Sales, and Business development hunter type of roles
  • Knowledge of Crypto or interest in Crypto is a plus
  • Self-starter with a strong commercial & technological acumen
  • Proven solution selling experience in fast paced, technology centric environment, ideally leaders or successful scale-ups of relevant industries e.g., including Payments, Fintechs, B2B Financial Services, SaaS providers, ISVs or Consulting
  • Acute understanding of the payment value chain and tech companies/business startups
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills. Strong team spirit
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in both French and English
  • Proven ability to engage with C-suite executives and influence decision-making processes
  • Ability to navigate large organizations and influence without direct authority
  • Ability to build and maintain internal relationships with senior management and key stakeholders, gaining support for the strategic direction of the business
  • Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to translate complex challenges into actionable strategies.
  • Ability to understand and execute on key operational aspects, and attentive to details
  • Collaborative and results-driven approach to problem-solving
  • Comfortable in a multi-tasking environment and making prioritization decisions as needed to ensure successful delivery, able to give clear direction to team and customers alike
  • Educational background: Business School/MBA/Engineer/Masters
  • You will be based in Paris, France.
