We are seeking an exceptional and experienced Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our rapidly growing Payer Growth team. As the critical first point of contact for Pomelo, you will be instrumental in driving market penetration and building the qualified pipeline that fuels our growth. You will partner directly with our Growth and Product Marketing teams, targeting health plans who are committed to improving their members’ access to care and clinical outcomes.
Job Responsibility:
Generate High-Quality Opportunities: Proactively identify, research, and engage high-potential accounts within the payer ecosystem
Conduct Strategic Outreach: Execute sophisticated, multi-channel outbound campaigns (including personalized cold calls, tailored email sequences, and targeted social selling) to capture the attention of key decision-makers
Secure Executive Engagement: Effectively secure initial discovery meetings with senior Health Plan leaders, including C-suite executives, by leveraging creativity and persistence
Develop Value Propositions: Collaborate closely with Growth and Product Marketing teams to formulate personalized, impactful messaging that clearly articulates Pomelo Care’s unique value and return on investment
Market Mapping: Utilize tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator and CRM data to build and refine target account lists, ensuring outreach is focused on the highest-potential targets
Data & Performance Management: Maintain impeccable records in Salesforce, developing tracking and reporting dashboards to provide Sales leadership with clear, timely visibility into pipeline health and activity metrics
Quota Attainment: Consistently meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly targets for qualified meetings booked and opportunities generated
Represent Pomelo: Attend industry conferences and events as needed, serving as an articulate and professional ambassador for the Pomelo Care mission
Requirements:
2+ years of highly successful outbound sales development, lead generation, or business development experience, preferably within SaaS or healthcare technology, with a proven track record of exceeding quota
Exceptional ability to craft persuasive, concise written communications (emails, LinkedIn messages) and engaging, professional phone conversations
A results-driven, highly autonomous mindset with the ability to manage time effectively, prioritize strategically, and focus on activities with the highest impact
Hands-on expertise with sales enablement tools including Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other prospecting platforms
