You will be the driving force behind Mollie’s expansion into the Romanian market. As our first dedicated Business Development Manager for Romania, you’ll have the unique opportunity to introduce our world-class payment solutions to a high-growth region. You aren't just selling a product; you are building Mollie’s reputation from the ground up, helping local SMEs and mid-market merchants ditch financial bureaucracy and scale faster. This is a high-autonomy, 'hunter' role where your local expertise and network will be your greatest assets. Working as part of our expanding CEE team, you’ll identify high-potential opportunities, navigate the local e-commerce landscape, and position Mollie as the preferred partner for ambitious Romanian businesses.
Job Responsibility
Identify and close new business opportunities within the Romanian SME and mid-market segments to drive rapid market share growth
Build and maintain a robust outbound pipeline through strategic prospecting, networking, and high-activity outreach
Pitch Mollie’s localised value proposition, focusing on our easy integration and superior checkout experience for Romanian consumers
Negotiate and close complex deals, managing the full sales cycle from initial discovery to go-live
Provide local market insights to our Product and Marketing teams to ensure our offering stays ahead of Romanian merchant needs
Maintain meticulous CRM records in Hubspot to ensure accurate forecasting and transparent pipeline management
Requirements
Professional fluency in Romanian and English is essential
A proven track record of exceeding targets in a B2B SaaS or fintech sales environment
Deep knowledge of the Romanian e-commerce ecosystem and local payment preferences
A self-starter 'hunter' mentality with the discipline to build a territory from scratch
Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence C-suite stakeholders
Strong technical aptitude to explain payment integrations and API benefits to prospective partners
