We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to join a leading travel organisation. This role is responsible for driving sales growth, increasing market share, and developing strategic partnerships across a designated territory. Working closely with retail travel agent partners, you will build and maintain strong relationships, promote a portfolio of premium and luxury travel products, and identify new business opportunities across both B2B and B2C markets. Job Responsibility
Identify and develop key growth markets, customer segments, and business opportunities
Create and implement strategic sales and activity plans to maximise revenue growth
Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with retail travel agent partners
Deliver engaging product training through seminars, workshops, webinars, and presentations
Organise and support familiarisation trips for travel agent partners when required
Present to both large and small audiences to promote travel products and services
Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify new opportunities
Attend travel shows, trade events, product launches, and promotional activities
Represent the business at industry conferences and networking events
Manage sales budgets effectively and ensure a strong return on investment
Provide regular market intelligence reports, including customer feedback, competitor analysis, and industry insights
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Business Development, Sales, or Account Management role
Previous experience within the travel industry, either retail or wholesale
Confident, professional, and relationship-focused approach
Strong organisational and time management skills
Proven ability to build and maintain successful business partnerships
Excellent presentation, training, and communication skills
Strong negotiation and influencing abilities
Commercially minded with the ability to identify and maximise sales opportunities
Collaborative team player with a proactive approach
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, and comfortable using new technologies
Flexible and willing to travel extensively throughout the territory, including overnight stays and occasional evening or weekend work
