We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor. With responsibility for developing, managing, and executing the strategic business plan for the Housing division. You will work closely with senior management to identify and capitalize on new opportunities, create and implement strategic initiatives, and drive sales and profitability.
Job Responsibility:
Take responsibility for developing and growing the pipeline of future works in the Housing division
Be the Customer representative for the Housing division and Van Elle
Attend meetings and deliver CPD’s
Interact professionally with all people within the company and our clients
Generate and maintain excellent working relationships with client’s representatives
Interfacing with the other BD Managers to feedback meetings and enquiries
Encourage repeat business by adopting a professional attitude with clients and stakeholders
Liaise with Van Elle Estimators to track enquiries received
Conduct oneself in a way that reflects and promotes the Van Elle company values
Understand and act in accordance with Van Elle’s policies and procedures
Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertake
Requirements:
Experience of construction/housing market, specifically ground engineering
Contacts and knowledge of customers in the sector
Knowledge of GI techniques, capabilities and competencies required
Personable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities across all levels of the business
Strong organisational skills
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work under pressure
Excellence written and verbal communication skills
Competent in all Microsoft applications, especially office – Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Experience of effectively managing own priorities and meeting deadlines, in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to work flexibly to support the overall aims of the team and changing priorities
Eligible to work and live in the UK
Flexibility to travel in the UK
A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK (essential)
