Our client is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth and expand market presence throughout the Mid-South region. This role is ideal for a relationship-focused sales professional who thrives in a client-facing environment, enjoys building a book of business from the ground up, and is energized by networking, community involvement, and developing long-term partnerships. This position will serve as the primary sales and business development representative for the territory, working closely with operations and account management teams to identify opportunities, secure new contracts, and strengthen client relationships. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time in the field meeting with prospective and existing customers.
Job Responsibility
Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities within assigned markets
Generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, community engagement, and industry events
Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, property managers, contractors, and business leaders
Conduct sales presentations, site visits, and client meetings to understand customer needs and develop tailored solutions
Prepare proposals, estimates, and service agreements while collaborating with operations and account management teams
Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution
Maintain ongoing relationships with clients to support retention, account growth, and customer satisfaction
Participate in community events, trade associations, networking groups, and marketing initiatives to increase brand visibility
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities
Track sales activities, pipeline metrics, and business development performance through company systems and reporting tools
Requirements
3+ years of outside sales, business development, account management, or related customer-facing experience
Proven ability to generate new business and develop long-term client relationships
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain a consistent sales pipeline
Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory
At least 5 years of experience in sales analysis, sales operations, or a closely related business support role
Demonstrated ability to create reports, evaluate sales data, and present clear findings to stakeholders
Hands-on experience with sales tax processes, including preparing and filing sales tax returns
Working knowledge of KYC and AML requirements in a business or customer-account environment
Proven ability to work independently and manage responsibilities without close supervision
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple priorities
Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and supporting commercial objectives

Experience in landscaping, construction, facility services, property management, maintenance services, or related industries
Experience selling service-based solutions to commercial clients
Familiarity with estimating, job costing, or operational service environments
Experience using CRM systems and sales management software
