We’re hiring a Business Development Manager to drive client growth and sales in Indonesia. In this strategic role, you will identify new opportunities, strengthen client relationships, and collaborate across teams to expand service offerings and increase backlog, working closely with leadership.
Job Responsibility:
Assist the development and execution of a structured BD strategy with a detailed outreach plan
Provide recommendations on refining BD approach based on performance analytics
Initiate and implement BD initiatives that leverage market intelligence to attract new clients and maintain relationships
Follow up news closely and stay ahead of industry trends and market dynamics, identify new growth areas for further exploration and share these with management
Support local management in the achievement of BD objectives, sales and growth targets
Personally develop a thorough understanding of all relevant ABL service offerings and their potential interactions with other Group companies to effectively identify opportunities and support strategic client engagements
Encourage exploring suitable adjacent service offerings during each client interaction
Report on cross-segment wins tracking deals that incorporate multiple ABL Group services and report successes
Encourage and coordinate building and maintaining relationships with clients through regular visits and active participation in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
Arrange and proactively participate in client visits and industry events to strengthen relationships and identify new business opportunities
Collaborate closely with relevant business line managers to identify top clients and map long-term engagement plans
Take the ownership and follow-up closely to achieve targets of client engagement KPIs per business line
Identify and engage with key marketing channels, industry publications, and trade shows to elevate ABL's brand presence, collaborating with the relevant teams to drive visibility and awareness
Maintain an up-to-date library of marketing materials, assisting in the creation of tailored presentations and documentation that support BD initiatives
Ensure that all BD activity performed in the country is duly logged and followed up in CRM
Monitor and enforce CRM hygiene ensuring all deals have clear next steps, probability weighting, and updated closing dates
Provide insights from CRM data to the local leadership identifying trends, deal risks, and proactive intervention point
Prepare regular BD performance reviews analyzing pipeline trends, conversion rates, and areas for improvement
Coordinate and lead local weekly team meetings to ensure proactive client engagement
Coordinate and lead local momentum meetings to track deal movement and eliminate any stalled opportunities
Be responsible and hold all stakeholders accountable for pipeline movement ensuring proactive updates on stagnant deals
Wherever possible, work collaboratively with other sister brands to identify multi-segment opportunities leveraging synergies
Lead and assist the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions as and when required
Adhere and promote adherence to ABL’s HSEQ policies, procedures, and regulations
Undertake any additional job-related duties as required
Requirements:
Degree in Business or a related technical field
5+ years’ experience in a commercial or consultancy role, ideally within offshore marine and engineering
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and market insights
Commercially minded with project management expertise across multiple initiatives
Skilled in identifying business strengths and driving internal improvements
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement abilities
Proven networking and negotiation skills with a strategic marketing mindset
Energetic, creative, and proactive with a positive, self-motivated approach
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, fostering long-term partnerships
Must have the right to live and work in Jakarta, Indonesia
