We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager with a proven track record of helping companies grow from around €20 million to €50 million in revenue. The ideal candidate has experience working with companies under €50 million in annual revenue and has successfully driven their growth. Key responsibilities include developing and expanding the market for registered medications, with a special focus on special import/export and unlicensed medicines. In addition, the candidate should have experience registering products in countries where the registration process is relatively straightforward and then leveraging that to facilitate special import/export operations.
Job Responsibility:
Drive business growth by identifying and developing new commercial opportunities in the pharmaceutical market
Expand the market presence for registered medications, focusing on strategic growth in selected geographies
Lead and manage special import/export activities, particularly for unlicensed medicines and named patient supply programs
Collaborate with internal regulatory, supply chain, and commercial teams to streamline import/export operations and accelerate time-to-market
Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare authorities, distribution partners, and key stakeholders across target markets
Analyze market trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activity to shape go-to-market strategies
Support pricing, tendering, and contract negotiations for new market launches
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and revenue growth related to market expansion and product launches
Monitor regulatory developments across EMEA and translate them into business opportunities and risk-mitigation strategies
Requirements:
Approximately 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical business development, import/export, or specialty medicines distribution within Europe
Proven expertise in handling special, unlicensed, or niche medications, including regulatory compliance, GDP requirements, and operational execution
Fluent English required
additional European languages are an asset
Strong understanding of EU pharmaceutical legislation, controlled medicines processes, customs procedures, and quality standards
Demonstrated success in building partnerships and driving business growth in a complex, multi-country environment
Experience managing logistics for cold-chain, time-critical, or high-value pharmaceutical products
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills
Ability to work independently in a standalone role and drive initiatives from concept to implementation
