Kisimul Group is a specialist health, education and social care provider, delivering high-quality services for children, young people and adults with complex needs. Our services operate within a highly regulated environment and are primarily commissioned by local authorities, integrated care boards, and NHS partners. As Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering Kisimul’s growth strategy across both children’s and adult services. This is a senior, strategic role responsible for driving organic growth, new service development and new business acquisition, including supporting tender and framework submissions.
Job Responsibility:
Contribute to the development and delivery of Kisimul’s strategic growth plan
Develop and deliver a marketing strategy that supports brand awareness, reputation and demand generation
Create and maintain demand for Kisimul’s services
Promote Kisimul’s specialist services
Lead the strategic and day-to-day management of business development activity
Maintain oversight of a robust and sustainable pipeline
Own and oversee the marketing plan
Oversee social media activity, advertising campaigns and external marketing collateral
Ensure effective use of internal marketing toolkits
Identify suitable tender and framework opportunities
Build and maintain strong, credible relationships with commissioners, placement teams, local authorities, ICSs and other key external stakeholders
Develop and deliver an annual communications, engagement and events strategy
Oversee the planning and delivery of external events
Arrange attendance at relevant sector events and conferences
Hold regular meetings with commissioners and placement teams
Build effective working relationships with Operations, Quality, Finance and Business Support teams
Regularly visit Kisimul services
Ensure business development activity is aligned with operational capacity, quality standards and regulatory requirements
Be accountable for the capture, analysis and reporting of business development and marketing data
Set and monitor referral generation and engagement targets
Use data to inform decision-making, pipeline management and strategic planning
Demonstrate a deep understanding of the health and social care market
Identify new markets, partners and opportunities
Develop insight into customer expectations and the types of services that are marketable and in demand
Maintain awareness of competitor activity
Support the mobilisation of new services
Requirements:
Proven business development experience within health and social care (children’s services, adult services, education, supported living, residential care or similar)
Strong understanding of commissioning, placements, tenders and frameworks
Experience building relationships with local authorities, NHS/ICS partners and commissioners
Commercially astute, with the ability to balance growth, quality and regulatory compliance
Comfortable working nationally with regular travel to services and stakeholders
