Mantell Associates is partnered with a leading global CRO, who is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to support continued expansion across the UK and European markets. This role will focus on building strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotech clients, identifying new business opportunities, and driving revenue growth across the organization’s clinical development services portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing global CRO and play a key role in expanding its commercial presence across Europe while supporting the development of innovative therapies.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and execute regional business development strategies to expand the company’s CRO service offerings across the UK and European markets
Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and emerging biotech companies
Manage complex sales cycles from initial engagement through proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across clinical development, outsourcing, and procurement functions
Collaborate with internal clinical, regulatory, and project delivery teams to align proposals with client needs and operational capabilities
Represent the company at industry conferences, partnering events, and client meetings to strengthen market visibility and generate new leads
Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and CRM reporting to support commercial planning and performance tracking
Monitor industry trends and competitor activity within the global clinical research services sector
Requirements:
Proven experience in business development, strategic sales, or account management within the CRO or clinical research services sector
Demonstrated success generating new business and managing complex service agreements with pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients
Strong understanding of clinical development processes and outsourced clinical research services
Established network within pharmaceutical and biotech organizations across the UK and European markets
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage long sales cycles and coordinate cross-functional proposal development
Fluent English required
Candidates should be based in France with the ability to travel across the UK and Europe as required
