Job Description:

Responsible for proactively soliciting and managing group/catering-related opportunities. Actively up-sells each business opportunity to maximize revenue opportunity. Achieves personal and team related revenue goals. Ensures business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery. Responsible for driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.

Job Responsibility:

  • Proactively solicit and manage group/catering-related opportunities
  • Actively up-sell each business opportunity to maximize revenue opportunity
  • Achieve personal and team related revenue goals
  • Ensure business is turned over properly and timely for service delivery
  • Drive customer loyalty by delivering service excellence
  • Provide service to customers to grow share of the account
  • Identify new group/catering business
  • Monitor same day selling procedures to maximize room revenue and control property occupancy
  • Understand property's primary target customer and service expectations
  • Respond to incoming group/catering opportunities
  • Execute and support company's Customer Service Standards and property's Brand Standards
  • Partner with Event Management and/or Operations
  • Attend pre- and post-convention meetings
  • Work collaboratively with off-property sales channels
  • Develop relationships within community
  • Utilize intranet for resources and information
  • Participate in daily service basics of the brand

Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • 2 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • Understanding of market competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand
  • Negotiating skills and creative selling abilities
  • Ability to use sales resources and administrative/support staff effectively
  • Ability to execute and support operational aspects of business booked (generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence)
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service consistent with brand standards
  • Ability to build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers
  • Ability to conduct site inspections
  • Ability to create contracts as required
