We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to grow revenue and strategic partnerships within the vehicle salvage and automotive recycling sector. The role will focus on winning new business, developing long-term relationships with insurers, fleet operators, accident management companies, dealerships, and body repair networks across Oxfordshire and the wider region. This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring strong industry knowledge, negotiation skills, and the ability to identify new market opportunities.
Job Responsibility:
Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within the vehicle salvage and automotive recycling market
Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline, from lead generation through to contract close
Meet and consistently deliver against agreed targets
Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients including insurers, leasing companies, fleet operators, local authorities, and repair networks
Act as the main commercial point of contact for assigned accounts
Ensure customer satisfaction and retention through proactive engagement
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and changes in legislation affecting vehicle salvage and end-of-life vehicles (ELV)
Identify opportunities for expansion into new services, territories, or customer segments
Represent the business at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
Work closely with operations, compliance, and logistics teams to ensure commercially viable and deliverable solutions
Support pricing strategies and contract negotiations
Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to senior management
Requirements:
Proven experience in a Business Development or Sales role
Demonstrated success in winning and managing B2B contracts
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to identify client needs and propose effective solutions
Full UK driving licence (with minimal points)
Nice to have:
Previous experience within the vehicle salvage, automotive recycling, accident management, or wider automotive sector
An understanding of salvage operations, vehicle disposal processes, and associated compliance requirements
Existing network within insurers, fleet operators, or accident management companies
Knowledge of ELV legislation and environmental compliance
Experience working with CRM systems and sales reporting tools
