The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for winning new business and driving revenue growth in line with the organization’s strategic goals. This role focuses on new client acquisition, reactivation of dormant accounts, and expanding the company’s presence in key markets. The successful candidate will combine a hunter mentality with consultative selling skills to identify opportunities, build senior-level relationships, and secure profitable contracts.
Job Responsibility:
Proactively identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities in freight forwarding, supply chain, and logistics (Air, Ocean, Road, and Customs Clearance)
Reactivate former/dormant clients and expand existing accounts to additional locations
Develop and maintain a strong, sustainable sales pipeline through direct customer contact, networking, and market research
Conduct consultative sales presentations and negotiate contracts to close opportunities
Define and execute strategies to win key industries and priority markets
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers at target companies
Collaborate closely with operations and internal teams to design tailored supply chain solutions
Maintain in-depth knowledge of market trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities
Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and revenue targets
Prepare accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and development plans
Manage all opportunities, accounts, and productivity using the prescribed CRM (Sales Force)
Track performance through regular reports and ensure timely onboarding and smooth implementation of new business
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
Minimum 5–10 years of successful sales experience in freight forwarding, supply chain, or logistics, with solid knowledge of Air, Ocean, Road transportation, and Customs Clearance
Proven ability to build and manage a high-quality sales pipeline and consistently achieve targets
Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
Strong hunter mentality with a competitive drive and resilience
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, comfortable engaging senior management
Strategic thinker with strong market analysis and opportunity identification abilities
Solution-driven and highly skilled in problem solving and overcoming objections
Strong organizational and coordination skills
able to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
CRM experience (Sales Force preferred)
Well-groomed and professionally presented
Self-motivated, ambitious, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
Demonstrates urgency and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
