We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Manager for our Business Development Office (BDO) to join the Amgen External Planning (AXP) organization. Reporting to the AXP Senior Manager Supply Chain, this Hyderabad-based role supports global AXP operations across the US, Europe, and JAPAC regions. The Manager of AXP BDO is accountable for driving data-driven performance management, compliance governance, and business insights across the Amgen External Planning organization. This role will require a close partnership with Amgen External Supply, Global / Regional / Site Supply Chain, Global Distribution, Contract Quality Management, Operations Finance, and AXP Regional Hubs in US / JAPAC / EU. This role leads the Business function within AXP India and serves as the operational backbone for analytics, compliance oversight, and business reporting. The position ensures robust performance visibility across commercial and pre-commercial supply, supports integrated business planning, and strengthens compliance execution across the External Planning team. The Business Development Office Manager will directly manage a team of Data Analysts and Compliance Associate and will partner closely with peer leaders responsible for Digital Capabilities and Supply Planning Execution to enable a scalable, insight-driven operating model. AXP is an integral part of Global Supply Chain at Amgen, leading reliable, efficient and agile planning and delivery operations for Amgen’s CMO-sourced products. The Business Development Manager located at Amgen’s Hyderabad site and their associated team will serve as a key pillar in the External Supply work center team structure. The ideal candidate combines strong supply chain expertise with people management and leadership attributes, a digital mindset, analytical capability, experience in a compliance based regulatory environment and a proven ability to drive continuous improvement within a complex global matrix environment.
Job Responsibility
Own end-to-end AXP business performance reporting, dashboards, and KPI governance
Own data insights, metric analysis, corrective actions including metric driven performance improvements
Own AXP Monthly Planning cycle readout and Supply Plan processes
Own AXP Integrated Business Planning processes including S&OP and associated monthly supply reviews
Lead development and continuous refinement of supply dashboards and metric alignment efforts
Ensure visibility into key performance drivers including Commercial & Clinical lot volumes, CMO footprint growth, Cost to Serve, and deviation trends and supply risk indicators
Provide actionable insights to support Quarterly Business Reviews and forward 12Q strategy discussions
Partner with Finance and Global Planning to align performance metrics with financial and LRS cycles
Partner with AXP Business Performance Manager to ensure digital tools and applications are best fit for purpose and aligned with Amgen Digital and Technology roadmap
Ensure full adherence to SOPs and corporate/regulatory requirements across the AXP team
Manage ownership of AXP SOP’s and GMP Guide documents and ensure timely periodic reviews and change management
Oversee training compliance and GMP adherence metrics
Own AXP training assignment portfolio and it’s optimisation
Maintain inspection and audit readiness for the External Planning function
Track and drive closure of compliance-related action items, commitments, and governance controls
Embed a culture of quality and accountability aligned to AXP’s mission and value proposition
Directly manage and develop staff executing Data Analytics and Compliance Operations
Establish clear performance expectations and career development plans
Drive capability uplift in analytics, automation, and insight generation
Support workforce planning, resource modelling, and capacity management aligned to workload drivers

Requirements
Doctorate degree and 3+ years of Supply Chain, Business Analytics, or Operations related experience
Or Master’s degree and 8+ years of Supply Chain, Business Analytics, or Operations related experience
Or Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of Supply Chain, Business Analytics, or Operations related experience
At least 2 years’ experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation of resources
Nice to have
Proven leadership capabilities with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
Ability to understand complex processes, derive insights, and visualize end-to-end workflows
Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech supply chain, particularly within GMP-regulated environments
Strong understanding of external manufacturing (CMO/CDMO) operations
Demonstrated experience building performance dashboards and KPI governance frameworks
Experience supporting Quarterly Business Reviews, Integrated Business Planning (IBP), or Long-Range Strategy cycles
Strong financial acumen including Cost to Serve, productivity, and capacity modelling
Experience leading cross-functional improvement initiatives
Familiarity with SAP, Rapid Response, Power BI/Tableau, and enterprise planning systems
Proven ability to translate data into executive-ready insights
