Job Description

We are looking for a highly experienced and energetic business development professional who has a proven record of success bringing in new business and exceeding customer expectations. The Business Development Manager will be focused on identifying, qualifying, capturing, and winning new business in the Mission Critical construction market, with emphasis on data centers, power generation facilities, and other high-reliability infrastructure for private and public clients.

Job Responsibility

  • Maintain a specialized understanding of the mission critical construction industry
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and sales pipeline
  • Build and maintain relationships with owners, developers, engineers, and integrated delivery teams
  • Develop pursuit strategies aligned with a variety of delivery and scope models
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure pursuits align with execution capabilities
  • Maintain close client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain client relationships after project completion
  • Represent Modern at client meetings, industry events, and partner engagements

Requirements

  • Five (5)+ years of experience in industrial and commercial construction
  • Exposure to mission critical, data center, power generation, or similarly complex infrastructure projects preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to support or sell work into integrated delivery environments and/or scope-specific engagements
  • Ability to manage long sales cycles, multi-phase developments, and high-dollar pursuits
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time

  • Demonstrate active participation in Storyboarding efforts
  • Has demonstrated a broad knowledge of building systems, components and construction methods, including the complexities in dependency and sequences of all construction related activities
