Business Development Manager role in Insurance Underwriting with a focus on developing broker relationships, optimizing profitability, and identifying new business opportunities.
Job Responsibility:
Develop relationships with new and existing brokers
Undertake reviews to identify areas for improvement and agree actions to optimise profitability
Offer advice on various classes of commercial insurance risks including property, liabilities, motor, etc.
Plan, forecast and targets to achieve the strategic business plan
Liase closely with management and company underwriters
Identify new business and sales opportunities
Attend network events
Seeking broker and market feedback
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a commercial insurance sales environment
Strong relationships within Scottish broker sector
Technical underwriting knowledge – SME/mid size risks – commercial property, EL, PL, motor, business interruption, etc.
Proven track record of working to sales targets
Understand general and legal principles of insurance
Full UK driving licence
Understand the relevant regulatory and legal frameworks
Customer focused approach
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work independently and use initiative
Able to work flexibly to achieve tight deadlines/targets with good organisation skills
