Job Description:

Drive growth. Build relationships. Lead the future of luxury corporate gifting. At The Newt, gifting is considered, crafted and rooted in the provenance and seasonality of our Farm. Our corporate hampers reflect the quality of our estate: distinctive, elegant and designed to leave a lasting impression. We are seeking a Business Development Manager to lead and significantly scale our corporate gifting business. This is a revenue-critical role with clear accountability for delivering ambitious sales targets, securing large-scale corporate partnerships and driving sustained year-on-year growth. You will take ownership of the corporate sales strategy, developing a strong pipeline of high-value opportunities and converting major accounts across blue-chip organisations, luxury brands and leading institutions. From traditional Christmas hampers to all year round high-volume collaborations, you will position The Newt as the premium partner of choice within the corporate gifting market. This role demands commercial rigour, strategic relationship management and disciplined execution, particularly during peak trading periods.

Job Responsibility:

  • Own and deliver agreed annual revenue and margin targets
  • Develop and execute a robust corporate sales strategy focused on high value, large scale accounts
  • Build, manage and convert a strong pipeline, maintaining clear forecasting and accountability against targets
  • Secure new business through proactive outreach, tender participation and strategic networking
  • Lead negotiations on pricing, volume and contractual terms, protecting profitability at scale
  • Drive growth within existing key accounts, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of major seasonal programmes, particularly Christmas, ensuring commercial and operational excellence
  • Collaborate closely with Buying, Merchandising, Operations and Finance teams to ensure margin control, stock planning and fulfilment alignment
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and pricing dynamics within the premium hamper sector
  • Report regularly on pipeline health, performance against budget and growth strategy

Requirements:

  • Significant B2B sales experience within luxury gifting, premium food, hospitality or a related sector
  • Experience managing and developing team members, with confident leadership and delegation skills
  • Proven track record of delivering and exceeding substantial revenue targets
  • Experience using a CRM, preferably HubSpot
  • Demonstrable success securing and managing high-value corporate contracts
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing strategy, forecasting and margin management
  • Confident negotiator, comfortable operating at a senior level
  • Highly disciplined approach to pipeline management and sales reporting
  • Resilient and performance-driven, particularly in peak seasonal trading environments
  • Strong understanding of the UK corporate gifting and hamper market
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with attention to detail befitting a premium brand
What we offer:
  • A positive workplace environment with opportunities to develop both personally and professionally
  • Peace of mind with Employee Life Cover, providing your nominated loved one with 2x your salary
  • Support from our Employee Assistance Programme, including unlimited 24/7 remote GP appointments for you and your family
  • Look after your wellbeing with complimentary access to our Spa and swimming pools and our exclusive benefit of 50% off Spa Treatments
  • Stay in shape with complimentary use of our gym and wellbeing classes
  • Access to our Cycle to Work scheme, supporting wellbeing and sustainable commuting
  • Complimentary staff meal when onsite – crafted by our dedicated kitchen team, often featuring fresh produce from our estate
  • Enjoy shopping in both our shops on estate and online with 30% discount for all our colleagues and free delivery for any online purchases
  • Complimentary garden membership for The Newt and our partner gardens, including the Eden Project, Kew Gardens and The Lost Gardens of Heligan
  • We value your hard work and recognise your achievements through our colleague recognition programme – Newt Awards, with the opportunity to achieve amazing rewards, including a complimentary Hotel Stay
  • Discover exclusive perks with discounted hotel stays for staff, accompanied by a 30% discount at our restaurants
  • A team that knows how to have fun with regular team engagement activities, including Fun Squad events
  • Up to 30 days annual leave each year for our full-time team
