The Business Development Manager – Mid-Market is responsible for building and converting a strong pipeline of mid-sized FMCG brands and distributors, supporting RedCloud’s medium-term growth strategy. This is a quota-carrying, pipeline-focused role centred on new business acquisition, with a strong emphasis on prospecting, qualification, and early-stage deal progression across high-potential accounts. You will work closely with Enterprise Sales and cross-functional teams to expand RedCloud’s footprint and develop a scalable mid-market revenue engine.
Job Responsibility
Identify, target, and engage mid-sized FMCG brands and distributors
Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline of qualified opportunities
Conduct outreach across multiple channels (field, referrals, partnerships)
Qualify leads based on commercial viability and strategic fit
Lead discovery conversations to understand customer needs and pain points
Position RedCloud’s platform in relation to key business challenges
Progress opportunities through early and mid-stage sales cycles
Support deal conversion in partnership with Enterprise Sales (where applicable)
Map and prioritise mid-market segments across Nigeria
Develop insights into emerging FMCG brands and distribution networks
Identify whitespace opportunities to expand market coverage
Work closely with Enterprise Sales to ensure alignment across segments
Partner with marketing and operations to drive pipeline generation initiatives
Provide market feedback to inform product and go-to-market strategy
Requirements
3–7+ years in business development, sales, or commercial roles
Proven ability to build pipeline and generate new business opportunities
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience in FMCG, retail, or distribution environments
Nice to have
Experience in SaaS, data platforms, or technology-enabled solutions
Exposure to emerging markets or high-growth environments
