Due to recent structural changes within the business and its continuing expansion, particularly within our maritime domain we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join the Business Development Function. This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your Career with Allan Webb Ltd as we continue an impressive growth path. The role will be based on Hybrid working, including working from home with regular visits to the company offices and/or customer sites when required. Reporting to the Allan Webb Business Development (BD) Director, you will have a strong entrepreneurial mind and understanding of best practice across Business Development and Governance within the Maritime (Commercial and Defence) domains and be able to confidently manage the process from cradle to grave.

Job Responsibility:

  • To develop new maritime Defence sectors (but not limited to) customer relationships, generate and negotiate new income for the business to an agreed Yearly Financial Targets
  • To retain and grow existing maritime customer accounts year on year through effective account management
  • Attending client meetings and exhibitions with travel being a major factor predominantly within the UK with some overnight stops
  • European and occasional Long-Haul travel is to be expected from time to time
  • Actively and successfully manage the business development process: lead generation

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, ideally in an Engineering related subject or similar
  • Previous experience within a similar role in the military/defence, specifically the Maritime industry
  • Proven success in developing, managing and winning bids and proposals, such as the Shipley Process or a suitable equivalent bid process/methodology
  • Ability to prioritise and meet conflicting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Be highly articulate with excellent attention to detail with an ability to spot errors and omissions
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Confident self-starter
  • Willing to travel to support the needs of the business as and when required
  • Hold British citizenship and the right to work in the UK
  • Hold SC level security clearance
