Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to support the expansion of Akkodis in the Defence and Aerospace sector in the Czech Republic. The role focuses on building strategic partnerships with defence organizations, aerospace companies, and public institutions while developing opportunities in European Defence Fund (EDF) / ERA funding programs and NATO projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing Akkodis as a trusted engineering and technology partner for defence and aerospace programs in the region. Akkodis is a global digital engineering and technology consulting company with over 50,000 engineers worldwide delivering services across aerospace, defence, mobility, software, and digital transformation.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and execute business development strategy for Defence & Aerospace in the Czech Republic
  • Identify and pursue opportunities with Czech defence companies, Aerospace OEMs and Tier suppliers, Government and public sector institutions, Research organizations and universities
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders within NATO programs and agencies, European defence initiatives and funding programs (EDF / ERA / Horizon Europe)
  • Support preparation of consortiums and proposals for European defence funding projects
  • Identify opportunities for Akkodis engineering services including systems engineering, testing & validation, software engineering, digital engineering and simulation, embedded systems and cybersecurity
  • Develop strategic partnerships with local industrial partners and integrators
  • Collaborate with Akkodis delivery teams across Europe to build competitive solutions
  • Manage the full sales cycle from opportunity identification to contract signature

Requirements

  • Proven experience in business development or sales in Defence or Aerospace industry
  • Strong understanding of European defence funding programs (EDF, ERA, Horizon Europe or similar)
  • Experience with NATO-related projects, procurement, or agencies
  • Strong network within the Czech defence and aerospace ecosystem
  • Experience building international project consortiums
  • Ability to sell engineering services or technology solutions
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Fluent in Czech and English

Nice to have

  • Experience working with defence companies, system integrators or engineering service providers
  • Knowledge of EU defence innovation programs and funding mechanisms
  • Understanding of defence procurement processes and industrial cooperation
