We are partnering with a leading global commerce technology platform that specializes in payment gateway infrastructure for enterprise merchants across diverse sectors including hospitality, lodging, quick-service restaurants, retail, and travel. With a strong presence in the United States and growing international footprint, the company is now expanding its operations into the Canadian market. This role is based remotely within Canada, with some travel expected. As the Enterprise Business Development Lead in Canada, you will be at the forefront of driving new business growth within key verticals. Your focus will be on opening doors to high-value enterprise merchants, cultivating strategic relationships, and expanding the partner ecosystem. This is a strategic, quota-carrying role designed for a proactive individual who excels at developing new opportunities and navigating complex sales cycles.
Job Responsibility
Drive net-new enterprise sales across Canada, with a focus on hospitality, lodging, retail, and travel sectors
Develop and manage a self-sourced pipeline, overseeing the entire business development lifecycle from prospecting to closing
Cultivate and sustain senior-level relationships within target merchant companies
Leverage existing payment partner networks and expand partnerships to accelerate deal flow
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and partner forums across Canada
Provide market insights and feedback to global sales leadership to inform strategic initiatives
Requirements
Extensive experience in payment gateway technology, with a minimum of 10-15 years in commercial roles related to payments or adjacent fintech
Demonstrable success in enterprise sales, particularly within hospitality, lodging, retail, or travel sectors
Well-established relationships with Canadian merchants and payment partners
Proven track record in managing and closing high-value deals with C-suite or VP-level executives
Demonstrable hunter mentality—self-starter with a strong capability to generate and develop a pipeline independently
Preferably, existing relationships with key partners such as Worldpay or comparable networks
Knowledge of the Canadian payments landscape and regulatory environment
Experience working in or understanding the Canadian hospitality, retail, or QSR markets is highly desirable
