This role sits within the Seller Growth Team, part of our SMB organization, responsible for designing and scaling commercial models that help entrepreneurs thrive on our platform. Our mission is to make it easier and more rewarding for consumers and businesses to advertise, sell, and grow through Marktplaats. We build and optimise subscription, insertion and feature-based propositions that drive long-term seller success and sustainable revenue growth. We work closely with Marketing, Sales, Product, and Technology teams to design effective, customer-focused and value-driven solutions that enable growth and success for our sellers. Collaboration, innovation and data-informed decision-making are at the heart of everything we do.
Job Responsibility:
Take full ownership of the General Classifieds Subscriptions, Insertions & Features business area, ensuring sustainable revenue and user growth across both consumer and SMB sellers
Partner with Finance, Product & Technology and other key stakeholders to shape effective pricing and monetisation strategies that align with business goals and customer value
Define and evolve propositions and business models that meet the needs of both consumer and professional sellers, improving overall platform performance
Translate strategy into structured go-to-market plans, ensuring cross-functional alignment on execution, positioning, and performance tracking
Collaborate closely with Marketing and Sales to drive seller activation, retention, and upsell initiatives across segments
Work with the Customer Insights & Performance and Business Analytics teams to monitor results, identify opportunities, and make data-driven decisions
Act as the commercial voice in cross-functional discussions to ensure business goals and seller needs are represented
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in business development, growth, or commercial strategy, ideally within a digital marketplace, classifieds, or platform environment
Demonstrated success in turning strategy into execution, driving the development and scaling of growth and monetisation initiatives
Strong analytical and action-oriented mindset, with the ability to translate insights into impactful business decisions
Demonstrates excellent presentation and communication skills, crafting compelling narratives, influencing stakeholders, and building alignment across teams
Naturally curious and proactive, and customer-centric, eager to understand how different parts of the business connect and how to unlock new opportunities for growth
Collaborative and influential
skilled at working with diverse teams across Product, Marketing, Sales and Finance
Entrepreneurial and results-driven, comfortable moving between strategic thinking and hands-on execution
Fluent in English
